On the Winona Campus of St. Mary’s

Asking good scientific questions can happen anywhere! Spend time in the beautiful bluffs on St. Mary’s Winona campus learning scientific concepts that you can apply in your own backyard. With this hands-on camp you will learn how to identify invasive species, spend time orienteering using maps, and explore DNA. 


July 11 – 15, 2022
For any child going into 5th grade through going into 8th grade.


$250 per camper

$225 per camper when registering multiple family members


Program Pillars

Our program has three foundational concepts that each activity is based on.

1. Landscape

Learn orienteering using maps and compasses.

2. Habitat

Learn what makes up an ecosystem and how every member has a role.

3. Organismal

Get an up close view of how organisms work.

Camp Daily Schedule

8 a.m. Arrival
8:30 a.m. Team Building
9 a.m. – 12 p.m. Backyard Science Activities
12 p.m. – 1 p.m. Bring your own lunch and free time on campus!
1 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. More Science Fun!
4:30 p.m. Pick Up

Housing Accommodations

If you are coming from out of town, there are many local hotel options.  There is also opportunities for on-campus housing (child must be accompanied by adult chaperone).
